Trent Bridge – Managing an 18th Century Bridge in a 21st Century Climate

4th October, 2024

Today, bridges built several centuries ago continue to serve as critical infrastructure. Increased traffic loadings and more severe rainfall events / flooding ensure these structures are tested beyond their original design parameters.

LandScope’s high-resolution sonar modelling is now a critical component of many regular bridge inspections, enabling the asset engineer with an exceptional level of resolutions and repeat accuracy.

Subsequent surveys may therefore be overlaid on original baseline measurement to determine any change – structural, scour, accretion and any unwanted underwater obstacles or debris.

Gainsborough Trent Bridge has been subject to repeat surveys by LandScope over the last decade enabling an asset health record both above and below the waterline.
