Recognising the many hazards associated with marine operations, LandScope ensures all team members undergo the highest standards of marine safety training prior to initial deployment and at repeat intervals, maintaining an optimum level of operational safety and readiness.
Bringing the highest level of rigour to all our activities, Dan Stevens, our commercially endorsed skipper, has decades of marine-based experience and is a water-safety teacher and instructor, alongside being an emergency responder for the RNLI.
Recently, three members of the LandScope team descended on Aberdyfi to complete their Certificate of Competence and RYA power boat 2 training utilising our in-house survey vessels (Polecat II and Chipmunk).
The team gained practical skills including boat handling at different speeds, docking, anchoring, man overboard recovery, launch & recovery and navigation in various conditions, along with additional theory and safety aspects covering collision regulations, weather & tides and essential safety equipment.
