Measured Building Surveys of UK Railway Stations
To aid redevelopment works at various railway stations across the UK, we packed our Trimble X7 and hit the road to capture Lidar and high resolution photography of the internal spaces. Our client required high accuracy measured building survey data and an interactive visualisation workspace to enable their design team to take accurate measurements, visualise current condition, and model their redevelopment plans in 3D.
The X7 laser scanner is capable of capturing Lidar and photography simultaneously, ensuring an efficient field programme and minimal impact to the operational sites.
The project was delivered via Trimble Scan Explorer which allowed all data to be visualised in a single platform without the need for expensive or complex software packages. Within Scan Explorer, the photography is referenced directly to the point cloud allowing the architects and designers to leverage measurement in the photographic domain.
