Keeping an eye on underwater assets
LandScope’s remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) have enjoyed a busy start to 2024. The ability to provide detailed underwater visual inspection – even in low-light conditions – serves to augment and ground-truth our high resolution sonar modelling.
Recent successful projects have included detailed inspection of a fire water tank, the investigation of a legacy cooling intake culvert – of which the alignment, size and construct had been a mystery – and some detailed dam face inspections.
We are looking to develop our ROV capabilities in the coming months with larger and more capable systems and USBL acoustic positioning – watch this space!
