GIS Day 2015
LandScope has celebrated this year’s GIS Day by holding a ‘Fun with Maps’ day at a local primary school.
We taught the children all about grid references, map symbols and how to measure distances. We also collected information on their holiday destinations and portrayed this data on a map. The children had fun with a map quiz using Ordnance Survey Map Zone which is a fantastic interactive resource for children to learn all about maps and geography.
The children also spend time learning about the continents and oceans of the world.
A great – and informative! – day was had by all. The GeoPlace chocolates were lovely too!
