Avon Calling for Structural Monitoring
LandScope have recently installed a sophisticated remote monitoring solution on the Avon canal in preparation for a demolition and redevelopment project. Following a high-resolution sonar scan of the quay wall, a network of structural / geotechnical displacement meters were established over a wide range of assets including a Network Rail viaduct, the quay wall and a nearby listed building.
Network installation was exceptionally challenging, with non-intrusive deployment from our boat platform, and our team had to design and implement an off-grid, non-mains power solution.
Our client benefits from weekly automated reports generated directly from the Trimble 4D monitoring platform and is alerted to the breach of any agreed thresholds.
