Technological advancement allows for real-time low-cost sensors to be deployed on projects, sending high frequency data to the LandScope hosted Trimble 4D web portal for convenient stakeholder access. In contrast to periodic monitoring, the volume of data available when correlated with datasets from other geospatial and /or environmental sensors, allows for powerful analysis over a project’s lifecycle.
A common setup is the use of tilt meters, converting angular rotational units (°) into horizontal or vertical displacement units (mm). When coupled with periodic monitoring using prisms, displacement conversions at applicable epochs can be validated with confidence.
