20 Today! Happy Birthday LandScope
It is now twenty years since the original LandScope team developed its vision for the UK survey industry. Built on a simple philosophy of pairing the core principles of survey and technical rigour with an emergence of twenty first century technology, LandScope was born.
As first adopters, we have always led from the front with the earliest introduction of technology. This remains atop our agenda.
Our focus has always been on assembling the best multi-disciplinary and diverse team and this is rewarded with many of us having been around since the early days.
Our new world challenges of sustainability, cyber security, racing technology and big data management will inevitably keep us on our toes for the coming years.
Simply reviewing the activity profile of this week, it is clear to see how far we have come since the early days of a single total station; busy with:
- Nearshore marine geophysical survey – Aberystwyth
- Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and seismic refraction survey – Aberystwyth
- Marine UXO survey – Portsmouth
- UAV LiDAR mapping – Scotland Windfarms
- Mobile Mapping for flood modelling – Derbyshire
- Structural movement monitoring – Bristol
- Multiple core survey projects
Over twenty years, technology has changed rapidly. Over the same twenty years the core principles of survey and technical rigour have not changed at all.
